Hollow Ridge Horses for Sale
Clabber Painted Star--AKA "Sasha" 2002 APHA Tobiano Buckskin Mare, #685,927 $TBD, delivery negotiable Sasha is a beautiful Paint mare that just recently came to Hollow Ridge. Her breeding is impeccable with Two Eyed Jack on her papers, crossed with Doc Bar on the top. This is a great cross for a wonderful performance horse! Sasha is showing some great potential that has only now been unleashed. We are currently working to fill some holes in her training, but she is coming along quickly. She knows her leads, neck reins, stops, backs. She is now learning how to move off your leg correctly and is starting to side pass as well as pivot on front and back. She is a true dream on the ground, her ground manners are some of the best around. Sasha is not for a beginner who is looking for a pretty horse, she is a true worker that needs someone who can put her to work and make her happy. She is not a spooky horse, in fact we have not found anything yet that scares her, she just thoroughly enjoys high speeds, in fact much prefers a good lope or run to a gentle walk or trot. After we fix the holes in her training, we will start patterning her on the barrels. As much as she enjoys running, we are sure she will be a natural! HH Dukes My Name--AKA "Otis" 2004 AQHA Sorrel Gelding, #4563688 $5000, delivery negotiable
This horse is loaded with Doc Bar...top and bottom, with Colonel Freckles and Dry Doc ON HIS PAPERS! Otis is bred to be an athlete and he is. He came to Hollow Ridge in 2008 as an untrained horse. He quickly took to his training, sailing through his ground work, round pen work and basic skills. Before turned out to pasture for the winter, Otis was picking up both leads on cue, side passing, backing, pivoting on front and back, opening and closing gates, and was willing to do sliding stops. He is very alert to his surroundings and really likes to watch cattle. With his sound mind, he would excel as a full-blown rodeo horse, classy western pleasure horse, or anything in between. He was bred for performance in and out of the arena and is now ready to be put to work. UPDATE: Otis is now excelling as a child's lesson horse and is ridden regularly by children as young as 8. He has become my go-to horse for just about everything from moving cattle, pleasure riding and especially riding lessons. Otis is now being patterned on barrels and is really enjoying it.
Sonnys Smoky Chester 2005 AQHA Bay Gelding, #4761317 $6000, delivery negotiable
Amazing bay gelding! Has a great head and excellent disposition. Check out his bloodlines--Sonny Dee Bar/Zippo Pine Bar/Two Eyed Jack/Doc Bar/Easy Jet--with his breeding, he can go any direction! He has shaped up to be a great horse. This little guy can move out in a hurry. His size and speed would make him a great steer wrestling or hazing horse. We have used him for hazing and he excels at it. Chester is a great horse who is eager to learn and willing to please. This horse just needs a job. UPDATE: We are now using Chester as a lesson horse. He is doing great with kids as young as 10.
SOLD -- Star of Bars--AKA "Tobi" 2001 APHA Tobiano Sorrel Mare, #625,610 Thank you Derek, Candace and De Anna Harris!!!!
SOLD -- Easys Candy Jett--AKA "Tawny" 1993 AQHA Bay Mare, #3236159 Thank you Jack, Marge, Jill and Megan Bedessem!!!!
Tawny is a great kids horse at a great age! At 17, she is a nice, dependable mare that is suitable for kids as well as adults. She works cattle, is a solid trail horse and is a wonderful pleasure riding horse beyond being a great broodmare. We are moving her out because she has been the basis of our breeding program, we have kept several of her babies, and we have decided to expand into Paints. Since her last baby was born three years ago, Tawny has been being used in our western riding lesson program for ages 6-Adult, but utilizing her mainly for children. To call her a safe horse would be an understatement, but to call her dead broke would be an insult. She is a wonderfully spirited horse who has excellent manners on the ground and on her back, but if you look at her breeding you will see she is bred to go!
SOLD -- Mr Rose Aledoc--AKA "Milo" 2005 AQHA Chestnut Gelding Congratulations Katie Hartmann of Fort Collins, CO, proud new owner of Milo!
Hi Jaime,
Colonel Freckles and Dry Doc on his papers!!!! He is knee deep in bloodlines and built to rodeo. "Milo" is another exceptional horse that came to Hollow Ridge last fall with his full brother, Otis. He is very athletic and has been started under saddle. We put about 45 days on him then turned him out to pasture for the winter. We will be bringing him in for more training this summer. As we put more time on him, his price will increase...so grab him up now at this price! His bloodlines alone are worth it. Milo is a sweet horse that loves people, but he is in need of a job to do. He would excel in the arena at just about any discipline. He loads, is easy to catch and is good with his feet. He is up to date on his vaccinations.
